Supporting Public Education

Connecticut boasts one of the best public education systems in the country, and it's time for Stamford to join those ranks. Our community is committed to improving the quality of education for our children. By addressing family needs, improving graduation rates, and boosting test scores across all grades and schools, we can ensure a brighter future for our students.

Additionally, we aim to secure more support for our universities and community colleges, making higher education more affordable and accessible for every Stamford student. Our children deserve the best, and together, we can provide them with the education they need to succeed. Here's how Olga plans to achieve this:

  • Supporting Care4Kids: Increase funding to Care4Kids, which provides financial assistance for childcare costs to eligible low-income families, enabling parents to work or attend school.

  • Prioritizing Community Colleges and Trade Schools: Prioritize state scholarships for community colleges and trade schools to promote access to vocational and technical education, aligning with workforce development needs and providing alternative pathways to career success.

  • Expanding Vocational & Technical Institutions: Support vocational and technical institutions to provide viable alternatives to college, catering to students who prefer practical skills training over traditional academic pathways.

  • Ensuring Safety, Quality & Accountability: Implement stringent measures to ensure safety, maintain high quality standards, and enhance accountability across educational institutions and childcare facilities.

These policies will support Stamford's education system and ensure a brighter future for our children and community.
